Read on and prep your taste buds for all the delicious vegan food at Target.
1. Vegan Snacks
Healthy snacks, sweet snacks, lunch-on-the-go snacks—Target has your hankering covered. Ever heard of Hippeas? Essentially like vegan Cheez Doodles, they’re little puffed chickpea bites that Target sells in Vegan White Cheddar. Read about them on our vegan snack guide and head over to Target to conquer your next snack attack.
2. Vegan Chips
From salty to sweet, Target offers a wide array of vegan chips. You can find crunchy, classic kettle chips, but there are also healthier options. Terra chips are assortments of nutritious root vegetables like sweet potato and parsnip (though a conscientious vegan diet is never chip-heavy). If you haven’t tried Annie Chun’s Seaweed Crisps, they’re also pretty darn good. Add them to your vegan treat list and pick them up at Target.

3. Vegan Cheese
Your vegan cheese choices at Target include top-notch brands like Daiya and Miyoko’s. Miyoko’s vegan cheeses are the creations of Miyoko Schinner, an award-winning vegan chef, and they’re absolutely superb. Try Miyoko’s Plainly Classic cream cheese made with coconut oil and cashews. Trust us, you won’t believe it’s vegan.
4. Vegan Butter
Every vegan refrigerator should have some quality vegan butter. It’s an essential element of many vegan baked goods and sauces, and anyway, it’s hard to imagine a world where vegan butter melting into maple syrup on vegan pancakes didn’t exist. If Target is your preferred grocery store, we can show you which vegan butter brands Target carries to expedite your shopping.
5. Vegan Coffee Creamer
Califia Farms Mint Cocoa Almondmilk Creamer and Ripple’s Original Half & Half are two of the plant-based coffee creamers you need to try at Target. Vegan coffee creamers really are getting more and more exciting with nut, soy and veggie bases. You wouldn’t bet on a creamer using pea protein to make thick, creamy, real-tasting half-and-half, but you probably haven’t tried Ripple’s Original Half & Half. It’s one of the most versatile vegan creamers as you can add it to your coffee or cooking. Vegan Alfredo, anyone?
6. Vegan Bread
Whether you like soft, squishy potato bread or hearty whole grain, you won’t have any trouble finding vegan bread at Target. There are no egg or milk products in the breads on our vegan bread list, just verified vegan ingredients for all your toast and sandwich needs. In fact, the sourdough and Italian breads we found would make some might fine vegan grilled cheeses to dip in tomato soup on a rainy day.
7. Vegan Waffles
It’s true that waffles aren’t usually vegan—not the waffles on brunch menus or the frozen Eggo waffles in supermarkets. But that doesn’t mean that they don’t exist or are even difficult to locate in Target. Wish you could wake up to gluten-free vegan pumpkin waffles? Check out Nature’s Path Pumpkin Spice Waffles in Target’s frozen section. We’ve got those and more on our vegan waffle guide.
8. Vegan Broth

Target sells vegan vegetable broths and stocks aplenty for your soups and sauces, but as luck would have it, Target also carries vegan miso broth. Ordinarily, miso is not vegan as it almost always contains fish flakes, but we made the fabulous discovery that Imagine Miso Broth is fish flake-free and vegan. Get ready for soup night.
10. Vegan Salad Dressing
As you may already know, salad dressings like balsamic vinaigrettes tend to be pretty reliably vegan. It’s typically the creamy ones you need to watch out for. Beyond fruity and balsamic vinaigrettes, Target’s salad dressing options include creamy Italian dressings you would never suspect were vegan. Have a peek at our list of Target’s top vegan salad dressings to learn what you might be missing.
11. Vegan Cookies
Oreos, iced oatmeal cookies, fruit-filled and peanut butter cookies—whatever you’re craving, it’s probably at Target. With all the varieties, it’s less about figuring out which cookies are vegan and more about figuring out what kind of vegan cookie you’re in the mood for. Vegan cookie shopping at Target is that easy.
12. Vegan Candy
Vegan candy can be a gamble. Until you do the research, you never know which candies you grew up on are gelatin-based or made with carmine, a red colorant from cochineal beetles. We wanted to know exactly which candies at Target were vegan, and some were quite unexpected. Who would have figured that Sour Patch Kids are vegan? For a quick glance at the vast selection, refer to our list of confirmed vegan candy at Target.
13. Vegan Desserts
Yesss, vegan desserts! If you’ve been saving up your weekly dessert allowance and you’re not sure what to spend it on, Target has vegan pies, cookies and cheesecakes well worth the indulgence. You might recognize brand names like Daiya on our vegan desserts list, but even Entenmann’s makes a vegan pie. If you like the sound of that, take a look at the other surprisingly vegan desserts at Target.
14. Vegan Chocolate
Unless you’re one of the few individuals who can live without chocolate, it’s a necessity. There are plenty of vegan dark chocolate bars at Target, but there’s one particular brand that makes a famous chocolate bar with marzipan filling that we couldn’t believe is vegan. Can you guess what it is? We’ll give you a hint: it’s a German brand you can find in almost any grocery store. See which one it is on our list of vegan chocolate at Target.
15. Vegan Ice Cream
Don’t get us wrong, we love vegan ice cream. We just love vegan ice cream more when we can find it in tons of imaginative flavors, and that’s why we love Target. Who would miss dairy ice cream when they can have creamy, sweet avocado ice cream or cashew milk ice cream bars in chocolate-covered salted caramel? Maybe you’re looking for a vegan Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie made with almond milk. Yup, Target has it, and we couldn’t be more excited.
16. Vegan Wine
It can be a pain having to stop and search every bottle you pick up off the shelf on your smart phone. That’s why we created a list of vegan whites, reds and rosés at Target. But why aren’t all wines vegan, anyway? Doesn’t wine come from grapes? As it turns out, some wines use animal products in a stage of wine-making called “fining” where proteins and solids that would make the wine appear hazy are removed. When you just want to pick up a nice bottle on your way home, peep our top picks of vegan cabernets, pinot grigios and sparkling whites at Target.
17. Vegan Protein Powder
Target understands that there are many more protein sources than whey when it comes to protein powder. Hemp, pea protein and brown rice make up the nutrient-dense bases of the protein powders we found at Target. Whether you’re searching for a simple, unflavored supplement to bake energy bars with or a desserty chocolate fudge protein powder to add to your fruit smoothies, you won’t be disappointed.
