Target is a great place to find vegan products that go far beyond food. From candles, to shampoo, to makeup, Target carries a diverse assortment of products for men, women and kids that are both vegan and cruelty-free. Gone are the days when vegans were limited to just one kind of beeswax-free lip balm and mascara. Nowadays, you can make out like a bandit at Target.
Keep reading and you’ll see just how vast the selection of vegan products at Target is.
PS: If you’re looking for food – be sure to check out vegan food products at Target here.
1. Vegan Body Wash
Sometimes body washes contain animal products like honey and milk proteins, which is why it’s essential to read the labels. That’s exactly what we did when we put together our list of vegan body washes at Target. You can buy all kinds of heavenly-smelling body washes, including Mrs. Meyers Basil Scent body wash, Avalon Organics Nourishing Lavender Bath & Shower Gel and Method Men Cedar + Cypress Body Wash. Check out our list for the full scoop.
2. Vegan Shampoo
Fading color-treated hair, dry, flaky scalps and tangled curls can all be tamed by Target’s collection of vegan shampoos. Cruelty-free brand Paul Mitchell makes a vegan Color Protect Daily Shampoo for vibrant color and shine while Every Man Jack has a 2-in-1 Anti-Dandruff Shampoo + Conditioner that will leave your hair clean, moisturized and replenished without a trace of animal products. Find all the best vegan shampoos Target has to offer with our vegan shampoo guide.
3. Vegan Lip Balm
No beeswax or sheep wool lanolin for us. Lip balm can be as simple and utilitarian as Sun Bum’s aloe-rich Sunscreen Lip Balm, but some vegan lip balms at Target are more like lipsticks with deep tints—see the Color Quench Lip Tint in purple Sugared Fig from Pacifica on our list. Made with healthy coconut and avocado oils, it’ll add a dab of color to brighten up gray winter days.
4. Vegan Makeup
It’s totally possible to source all your vegan cosmetics from Target. Brands like Pacifica are 100% vegan and make everything from contour-ready primers to mascaras in bold black and various striking hues. e.l.f., another vegan-friendly makeup company, makes shimmery highlighters and blushes for your everyday makeup routine. Part of vegan makeup shopping is finding cruelty-free brands, which we’ve attempted to make a little easier for you with our selection of vegan and cruelty-free makeup at Target.

Target sells plenty of vegan facial scrubs, deep-cleaning masks and body oils. Looking for something to make your eyes shine a little brighter? Pacifica can help with that. The Dreamlit Under Eye Brightener takes care of circles with a petroleum-free vegan formula. Or indulge in a Matcha Tea & Chamomile Antioxidant Face Mask from Plant Apothecary. This clay-based mask reduces free radicals with natural matcha green tea. How brilliant is that?
6. Vegan Nail Polish
One of the biggest issues with nail polish as that brands often test on animals. We’re happy to report that Target has nail polishes for kids and adults in colorful, vegan and cruelty-free varieties. Piggy Paint makes nontoxic nail polishes for kids in glittery pink, purple and blue, but the company also makes nontoxic nail polish for adults with its SOPHi brand. See all the color choices on our Target vegan nail polish guide.
7. Vegan Mascara
Brands like Gabriel, Zuzu Luxe and Pixi at Target make vegan mascaras that’ll whip your lashes into shape. They avoid common non-vegan additives like beeswax, often opting for carnauba wax from the carnauba tree instead. This is how Pixi gets its Lash Booster Mascara to effortlessly sculpt your lashes. Pixi’s mascara is also waterproof and strengthening with added vitamin E.
8. Vegan Lotion
If you’re looking for vegan lotion, you’re in luck, because Target carries vegan lotions in scented and unscented varieties for sensitive skin types. Alba Botanica’s Unscented Original Very Emollient Body Lotion utilizes the hydrating powers of safflower and sesame seed oils combined with soothing aloe to calm dry, aggravated skin. Not all of Alba Botanica’s products are vegan, but the company promises on its webstite that only some lip products, Hawaiian Smoothing Sugar Cane Body Polish and Unpetroleum Jelly aren’t vegan. Score for us.
9. Vegan Sunscreen
You may find animal products in some sunscreens, but not in the sunscreens on our list. Sun Bum is great for an SPF 50 face sunscreen that’s light and moisturizing and won’t clog your pores. If you’re looking for a sunscreen that’s gentle enough for kids, try Babo Botanicals hypoallergenic and water-resistant Clear Zinc Sunscreen.
10. Vegan Candles
Because there’s a chance that the standard candle you can pick up at the supermarket contains beeswax, we wanted to find out which candles at Target were vegan. Unfortunately, lots of candle manufacturers don’t divulge their ingredients, but some do. While we wish we could say with 100% certainty that any candle that appears to be vegan is definitely vegan, we won’t make that claim. But we will say that, from our research, it looks like some candles at Target are vegan-friendly. Scope them out on our vegan candles list.
