Is Hunts Ketchup Vegan?

IS HUNTS KETCHUP VEGAN

Good news, Hunts ketchup is totally vegan. This product does not contain any animal products and contrary to silly rumors, it’s not made out of blood or anything crazy.

The same thing applies to almost every ketchup brand.

Let’s take a deeper dive into the ingredients and learn more.

Ingredients in Hunts

  • Tomato Concentrate (from vine-ripened tomatoes)
  • High Fructose Corn Syrup
  • Distilled Vinegar
  • Corn Syrup
  • Salt
  • Onion Powder
  • Garlic Powder
  • Natural Flavors

As you can see, there aren’t any questionable ingredients in Hunts. Some people might worry about natural flavors, but this is highly unlikely.

Even if there was a chance that these natural flavors had some form of animal origin (again unlikely), it’s still not worth worrying about as an ethical vegan.

Being vegan should be simple, not complicated. If there are no labeled animal products, then we don’t have to go digging around for the source of every ingredient.

It’s better to be 99.9% vegan than 0% and stressing over the extra 0.01% isn’t worthwhile.

  1. “Even if there was a chance that these natural flavors had some form of animal origin, it’s still not worth worrying about as an ethical vegan.” ARE YOU KIDDING ME? For lot of animal ingredients an animal has to DIE to obtain it, so even if a product is 99.9% vegan and 0.1% animal, an animal died so you could eat it. And that’s 100% unacceptable to any ethical vegan I know of.
