Which Grocery Store Aisle Is Tofu In?

Nine times out of ten, the tofu is going to be in the produce area of any major supermarket. Generally, it’ll be with products like mock meats, wonton wrappers, and refrigerated salad dressings.

If the store you go to doesn’t have tofu in the produce section, see if there’s a natural foods section. There may be a separate refrigerator for vegan and vegetarian items like tofu.

Silken tofu is frequently sold in vacuum-sealed packages in shelf-stable aisles rather than refrigerators. Usually, you’ll see it in a vegetarian, organic, or natural foods section.

What Stores Sell Tofu?

• Whole Foods – If you live near a Whole Foods, it’s super easy to find tofu in the produce area. There will usually be a few different kinds, including 365 brand tofu. 
• Amazon– Did you know you can get tofu on Amazon? If you’re looking for silken tofu, dried bean curd or tofu in bulk to save money, Amazon is the place.
• Walmart – Walmart sells Nasoya Extra Firm Tofu and Mori-Nu Silken Tofu, to name a couple of options. Products may vary in each store, so use the website’s store locator to see what you can buy in the Walmart closest to you.
• Asian Markets– Asian markets are good bets when it comes to tofu. There’s a good chance you can even get tofu in bulk.
• Trader Joe’s– Trader Joe’s sells plain tofu as well as marinated and baked tofu in a variety of flavors under its brand name. 
• Target– Target has Nasoya products, silken tofu and seasoned tofu options.
• Your Local Health Food Store– Without a doubt, your local natural food store will sell tofu.
• Safeway– If you live near a Safeway, stop in for a variety of tofu products, including sprouted and organic tofu. 
• Kroger – Kroger offers tofu from Simple Truth and House Foods, among other brands.
• Publix – Publix is another spot you’ll have no problem finding tofu in, including shelf-stable tofu and water-packed tofu in the produce section.
