At Jack in the Box, you have access to some solid vegan options. From lunch to snacks, every vegan should know the fast foods that they can grab on the road.

While you’re not going to be able to order a burger, there are some hacks to eating plant-based at Jack in the Box, with or without the bun.

When in doubt, there’s a helpful chart on the company website that shows the major food allergens in any product, which can be a quick way to assess whether there’s egg, dairy, seafood or meat in something on the menu.

That being said, it’s always a good idea to combine a chart like this with double-checking with the restaurant staff and doing your own research.

Now let’s get to the vegan options we could find…

Burgers

  • Vegetables on a Bun – You can ask for whatever vegetables they can give you on a bun. This might include lettuce, tomato and even the Teriyaki Bowl veggies. This trick will work at a lot of different fast food restaurants.
  • Teriyaki Bowl– Usually, the Teriyaki Bowl comes with a meat protein like chicken, but many vegans ask to leave the meat off, and the fast food chain is happy to comply.Essentially, what you’re ordering is a bowl of rice and vegetables.Make sure you get extra vegetables so that you don’t end up with less.

    Salads

A side salad is another menu item vegans can freely enjoy.

Jack in the Box does have salads like the Chicken Club Salad and the Southwest Chicken Salad that you might think of asking for without the meat, but it looks like they’re pretty much the side salad with meat, and maybe some cheese.

If you do order a side salad, you’ll need to be wary of the salad dressings.

This appears to be the only salad dressing option at Jack in the Box, but at least you know it’s vegan.
