Boca Spicy Chik'n Veggie Patties

This is a real spicy chick’n patty, not a buffalo style chick’n patty.

That can be seen two ways; on the downside, you’ve lost that buffalo-style flavor. But on the bright side, if you just want the spice, then this is it.

These products are USED to contain animal products, but the latest ingredient statements we could find show that they’re suitable for vegans. Be very careful when buying Morning Star products because up until recently, they weren’t a vegan brand. Be vigilant about double-checking.

Gardein Mandarin Orange Crispy chicken

One thing I missed the most after going vegan was Chinese takeout.

I’m a New Yorker, so that hit me kind of hard giving up those tasty combinations.

But Gardein brings those dreams back to life with the mandarin orange crispy chick’n.

It’s super sweet and has that authentic orange chick’n taste, like something from PF Chang’s.

Not to mention it’s really easy to make and pairs well with anything.

The ingredients are as follows:

Beyond Meat Feisty Buffalo Poppers

So, these aren’t as spicy buffalo as the Morningstar buffalo wings, but they’re just as good.

They have a little bit of kick but not too much. It’s more like a mild buffalo flavor.

So, if you’re afraid of spice but still like the buffalo flavor, these would be a good choice.

The ingredients are as follows:

May Wah Vegetarian Chick’n Legs

Ok, so these look a little weird, not going to lie, but don’t let that deter you from trying them because they’re pretty good.

They’re made entirely of soy protein, so they can be a little bland if you don’t spice them up just right.

But that can also be seen as a pro; it’s like a blank canvas for you to create masterpieces with.

The ingredients are as follows:
Soybean Fiber, Soybean Protein, Soybean Oil, Salt, Vegetarian Seasonings (White Pepper, Black Pepper, Chinese Five Spice)

Match Meat Vegan Ground Chick’n

This is a ground chick’n which makes it the most versatile.

You can mold it into whatever you want.

However, that also means this one requires the most work. If you want strips, you have to make them. If you want a patty, you have to make it.

But you have the option to do all of those things if you want to, like chick’n clay.

The ingredients are as follows:
Water, Wheat Protein, Soy Protein Concentrate, Sunflower Oil, Salt, Dried Yeast, Autolyzed Yeast Extract, Natural Flavors, Modified Vegetable Gum

Tofurky Slow Roasted chicken Sesame Garlic

Of all the chick’n that they make, this one has got to be the best.

It has a similar flavor to something you’d find in a restaurant.

The garlic is very prominent, so if you’re not a fan, it might not be for you.

But coupled with the subtle sesame flavor, it makes a delicious combination.

The ingredients are as follows:
Water, vital wheat gluten, organic tofu (water, organic soybeans, magnesium chloride, calcium chloride), non-GM expeller pressed canola oil, organic cane sugar, yeast extract, oat fiber, natural vegan flavors, non-GM corn starch, sea salt, potassium chloride, granulated garlic, calcium lactate from beets, onion powder, spices, citric acid, titanium dioxide (a naturally occurring mineral).
Marinade: Sesame oil, shoyu soy sauce (water, non-GM soybeans, wheat, salt, culture), water, rice vinegar, agave syrup, garlic puree, spices, xanthan gum.

Tofurky Slow Roasted Chicken Tandoori

These are pretty good, not as good as the sesame garlic, but right behind it.

It has a spicy, rich Indian flavor, and it’s very savory.

They have the chick’n on top of little sliders on the box, but this also goes very well on top of a bed of rice.

The sauce alone will spice up your meal; the chick’n is a plus.

The ingredients are as follows:
Water, vital wheat gluten, organic tofu (water, organic soybeans, magnesium chloride, calcium chloride), non-GM expeller pressed canola oil, organic cane sugar, yeast extract, oat fiber, natural vegan flavors, non-GM corn starch, sea salt, potassium chloride, granulated garlic, calcium lactate from beets, onion powder, spices, citric acid, titanium dioxide (a naturally occurring mineral). Marinade: Organic tofu (water, organic soybeans, magnesium chloride, calcium chloride), water, spices, garlic puree, shoyu soy sauce (water, non-GM soybeans, wheat, salt culture), organic cane sugar, paprika, lemon juice concentrate, sea salt, lycopene from tomatoes, potassium chloride, turmeric, xanthan gum

Tofurky Slow Roasted chicken Barbecue

This is a good alternative to Gardein’s chick’n wings if you don’t want the chick’n to be breaded or too large.

These work well with lettuce wraps and on salads.

They have a smoky barbecue flavor with a tangy sauce.

You can kick it up a notch if you want spicy barbecue by adding cayenne or chipotle.

The ingredients are as follows:
Water, vital wheat gluten, organic tofu (water, organic soybeans, magnesium chloride, calcium chloride), non-GM expeller pressed canola oil, organic cane sugar, yeast extract, oat fiber, natural vegan flavors, non-GM corn starch, sea salt, potassium chloride, granulated garlic, calcium lactate from beets, onion powder, spices, citric acid, titanium dioxide (a naturally occurring mineral).

Quorn Chick’n Style Tenders (the vegan version)

These are more like chick’n strips, not really tenders, but they are very good.

If you want to give these a try, I recommend buying in stores to know what you’re getting. There are some versions online that have eggs.

They’re tender and moist and cook very quickly.

The ingredients are as follows:
Mycoprotein (88%), Potato Protein, Pea Fiber, Firming Agents. Contains 2% or less Calcium Chloride, Calcium Acetate (Firming Agents), Water, Natural Flavoring, Wheat Gluten, Carrageenan & Sodium Alginate (Stabilizers)

*Quorn was another brand that recently changed their formulation, so be careful as not all their products were always vegan.

Korean Barbeque Meatless Chick’n

Suppose you stumble upon this at Target, stock up. It is amazing.

It has a flavor like something you would find in one of those amazing hole-in-the-wall restaurants.

It has a little spice to it, so be wary of that.

But for the most part, it’s a tangy barbecue flavor that doesn’t just sit on top; it’s marinated into the meat.

The ingredients are as follows: Filtered Water, Soy Protein Isolate & Concentrate, Organic Okara (Organic Soy), Sunflower Oil, Yeast Extract, Tapioca Starch, Sea Salt, Spices, Sauce: Organic Cane Syrup, Filtered Water, Organic Miso (Organic Rice, Organic Soybeans, Sea Salt, Filtered Water, Koji [Aspergillus Oryzae]), Rice Vinegar, Organic Tamari Sauce (Water, Organic Soybeans, Salt, Vinegar), Sesame Oil, Spice, Garlic, Gochugaru (Korean Chili Powder), Tapioca Starch, Acetic Acid, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Xanthan Gum.

That’s it!
