If you’re looking for some of the best vegan gravy brands, then you’re in luck! We’ve compiled a list of all vegan gravy packets, cans, powders, jars, and more to add to your shopping list. That way, you can have an easy-to-make gravy at your disposal for any occasion.
But first, let’s answer the question… Is gravy vegan? Usually?
Well, it depends. Some gravies are made from animal stocks (like chicken or beef), while others are purely plant-based. You have to check the ingredient statement to make sure.
Now let’s get to the gravy brands…
PS: We always recommend double-checking ingredient statements because they can change from what we’ve gathered at the time of writing.
Quick Summary
Simply Organic Vegetarian Brown Gravy
This is another safe option.
All the ingredients are organic (meaning there’s a 100% chance that the sugar is vegan), and this one is straightforward to make and very inexpensive.
You can find it in organic and big box stores like Walmart, so it’s very accessible. And on top of all that, it’s versatile; you can use it for soups and stews as well as gravy.
Organic Cornstarch, Sea Salt, Organic Maltodextrin, Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Caramel Color, Organic Tamari Powder (Organic Soybeans, Organic Maltodextrin, Salt), Organic Rice Concentrate, Natural Flavor (Yeast Extract, Salt, Natural Flavor, Canola Oil), Organic Onion, Organic Garlic, Organic Black Pepper.
Pacific Foods Organic Vegan Mushroom Gravy
There is a reason they sell this stuff by the carton.
It is a wonderful consistency and full of flavor. The mushroom stock used for its base provides a much more savory taste.
It’s easy to find in stores and online and is certified organic and gluten-free.
Campbell’s Mushroom Gravy
A name we all know and we all trust. At least a little bit anyway.
I have to admit I was also skeptical seeing this on the list. I was sure there would be an animal stock hiding somewhere in the ingredient list, but there wasn’t.
This truly is vegan and is actually really good. I think this was one of those accidentally vegan things, but nonetheless, enjoy!
Imagine Foods Organic Vegetarian Wild Mushroom Gravy
A reader mentioned this one was said to us by a reader, so we decided to add it to the list.
I’ve never tried it, but the reviews are pretty great.
Some of the reviews describe this item as very flavorful but having a thin consistency. It is certified organic and gluten-free as well.
Filtered water, organic corn starch, contains less than 2% of organic mushroom flavor (includes organic mushrooms, organic soy sauce [organic soybeans, salt], organic mushroom powder, organic canola oil, organic molasses, yeast extract, organic potato flour, organic flavor, organic onion powder, flavor, organic yeast extract), sea salt, organic vegetable flavor (includes organic carrots, organic onions, organic celery, sea salt), organic evaporated cane syrup, organic garlic powder, natural flavors, organic yeast extract, xanthan gum, organic caramel color, organic spice.
BOU Mushroom Gravy Cubes

These are kind of similar to bouillon cubes. You drop one or two in there, mix with water and call it a day.
The great thing about having these in cubes is that you can use them for so many other things without getting too messy like a liquid.
These are certified Vegan and Non-GMO (if that matters to you).
Modified Corn Starch, Sustainable Palm Oil, Enriched Wheat Flour (Wheat Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Salt, Yeast Extract, Shiitake Mushrooms, Champignon Mushrooms, Class 1 Caramel Color, Rice Flour, Sugar, Onion Powder, Soy Lecithin, Garlic Powder, Natural Flavoring. Contains Soy, Wheat.
Road’s End Organics Gravy Mix
The reviews on this one are spectacular and with good reason.
It’s noted for spicing up almost any dish, in addition to making an excellent gravy. It’s quick and easy to make. It’s also certified organic gluten-free, and did I mention it tastes amazing?
The price point is exceptional compared to some other brands, and it yields around 2 cups per packet.
Bisto Best Caramelized Onion Gravy Granules
These granules are great because you can add a little or a lot, whatever you see fit.
You can sprinkle them almost like a seasoning to spice your meal up or use the granules to make a gravy with an amazing flavor.
Unlike other gravies, it is onion flavored, not a mushroom, making it a welcomed addition to the gravy family.
Potato Starch, Dried Glucose Syrup, Salt, Rapeseed Oil, Sugar, Colour (E150c), Flavour Enhancers (E621, E635), Flavourings, Onion Powder, Onion Extract, Garlic, Acid (E270), Emulsifier (E322) (contains Soya), Black Pepper Extract.
ASDA Vegetable Gravy Granules
Just like the Bisto granules, you can add a little or a lot and can use these to spice up any meal.
This is UK based company, so you’ll only be able to have these shipped, making them a little less convenient than some of the other options.
Marigold Vegetarian Organic Gravy Powder
This is also a UK-based company.
It’s a classic gravy flavor, so it’s not likened to mushrooms or anything of that nature. It is a powder, so you’ll have to prepare this carefully, or you’ll get lumps.
This one is also only available online; it hasn’t made its way to the US just yet, as far as I could tell.
Wheat Flour, Maltodextrin, Corn Starch, Yeast Extract, Sea Salt, Palm Oil, Tomatoes, Onions, Raw Cane Sugar, Caramel.
Everyone loves a good gravy. It goes great with any homestyle meal, or even if you want to fancy up your mashed potatoes.
Tofurky Gravy
This is probably the easiest one to find and the safest go-to around.
It is mentioned in other blogs and all over Vegan forums for being the most reliable gravy. Meaning you don’t have to second guess what’s in it. Since Tofurky is a vegan brand, you don’t have to worry that they will change up the ingredients.
The taste, however, is debatable. Many say it doesn’t satisfy that craving for gravy, while others love it.
I think Tofurky makes excellent products all around, and the gravy is no exception. All their stuff seems to get better year after year as well.
Try for yourself!
