Which Country Grows the Most Pomegranates?
Pomegranates may be grown all over the world, but they’re still heavily concentrated in the same areas they originated from. India and Iran remain the world’s top producers.
Where are Pomegranates Grown in the US?
Only a couple different places in the US are suitable for pomegranate growth. Those places are Arizona and the San Joaquin Valley in California.
This is because California and Arizona have climates that are more hospitable for pomegranates. Pomegranates are vulnerable to root rot, so they can’t be in areas that are too wet. They prefer dry regions with a Mediterranean-type climate.

How Long Does Pomegranate Take to Grow?
If you’re looking for a tree that bears fruit speedily, pomegranate may not be the best choice. The tree takes around two to three years before it produces more than a couple fruits.
Once it does fruit, those fruits take five to seven months to reach a maturity that makes them suitable for eating. If you’re willing to wait, though, some would tell you that each pomegranate is truly worth the wait.
